Each year, SCCB helps hundreds of people who are blind or low vision to find and maintain employment or remain independent within their homes and communities. SCCB accomplishes this by providing a variety of valuable services that are tailored to individual consumers’ needs.

Employment

Vocational Rehabilitation services are provided to assist eligible consumers with finding, maintaining, or regaining employment. Our Business Enterprise Program helps qualified individuals become self-employed vending or food service facility operators in federal, state, or municipal locations.

Independence

Independence services are provided to individuals who are not working age, assisting them with developing the skills and confidence for self-sufficiency. Older Blind Services assists adults 55 and older who are blind and low vision, offering specialized training to help them remain independent in their homes and communities. Children’s Services assists children between the ages of 3 and 12 who are blind or low vision, helping them build academic skills and prepare for future success.
